Onboarding

Effective onboarding is about more than a handshake and a bouquet.

The recruitment process does not stop once you have the contract signed. A well-planned onboarding is equally important to ensure that your new colleague comes into play the best way possible.

Being the “new employee’” experience often lasts the first 30-60 days and will lay the groundwork for routines and ways of solving the tasks at hand. Creating the right foundation can have a huge impact on future output.

A good onboarding includes a 1-3-6-month plan with clear objectives and a chance for the employee to learn and at the same time be successful.

It is important to find the right balance between getting the new colleague on board but also having an awareness of what it means to the team dynamic incl. key stakeholders.

A well-planned onboarding is an investment that will optimize the long cooperation. It implies:

  • Engaging the new employee in the company prior to the first day on the job through relevant information
  • Letting the team and organization know that a new colleague is starting
  • Setting up meetings with key people and important stakeholders
  • Drafting short, medium, and long-term KPIs
  • Assigning a colleague to take the new employee under his or her wings to support the creation of a social network

Zimmermann Human Resources can plan and execute the process and support future teamwork.
